Simon the most popular game for decades is going to launch new wearable version of Simon this fall.
The four-colored memory game is known for its continual adaptation to the modern era. Last year Simon launched a hands- free version of the game with Simon Air. This new version allows you to hover your hand around a device to select a color.
This new Wearable called Simon Optix, just similar to the Simon Air. Likewise Simon Air it has motion sensors which detects the hand gestures of players repeating a colored pattern. However, the biggest update is that you can now wear the memory game on your head like a pair of VR goggles.
How Simon Optix works?
To make it work, you have to wave your hands in front of your face as the visor illuminates the area/color you need to pick. Inbuilt motion sensor tracks your hands. Similar to the classic version, the movements become more complex as the game progresses and a buzzer will signal the disappointment when you make a wrong move.
Moreover, if you have more than one Optix headsets, you can pair it together for a head-to head multiplayer setup. Each player will be given the same sequence and speed to see who can get the furthest. Don’t get too close or you may end up slapping each other. If you want to give it a shot, Simon Optix is set to go on sale this fall for $25. Just remember to stock up on AA batteries before you nab one.
